Nima Montazeri, CPO of Liberis, highlights some key areas that sellers must address to thrive in the rapidly evolving world of social commerce, particularly on platforms like TikTok Shop, Instagram Live, and Facebook Marketplace.
For Nima, thriving in these spaces is about overcoming hurdles in authenticity, seamless shopping, and community engagement.
"With increased competition on all these platforms, I think there are three broad challenges that sellers on these platforms will face.
Number one is around producing authentic content. There are more and more influencers selling on the likes of TikTok. So, creating, engaging, authentic content is becoming harder and harder.
Number two is providing a seamless social commerce experience. So going from watching a short reel on a product to actually buying the product. Are they able to provide a seamless experience that they can get to a checkout page or live within a few clicks? That's a big challenge on its own.
And the last one is around community engagement we've seen on these platforms that Gen Z buyers will be much more engaged with sellers if they can feel part of the conversation, if they can be part of a community if they can ask their questions about the products and get meaningful, timely responses. So, for the ones who can address these challenges, I think they will be very successful selling on these platforms."
